Heidelberg Youth Orchestra

The Heidelberg Youth Orchestra (HYO) is a performance ensemble for students who have some experience playing their string instrument (violin, viola, cello, string bass).  The group performs a variety of classical and contemporary music written and arranged especially for string orchestra.
Who: Grades 4-12
When: Saturdays, 10:00AM-12PM, beginning September 16
Cost: $90/semester, $170/school year

Who: Grades 3-7
When: Mondays, 7:15-8PM, Fall Semester Begins October 2
Cost: $75/semester, includes materials, books, and instruction.  Families must acquire their student’s instrument.

On August 17th, 2013, some of my students will be performing together in a chamber music concert.  Come hear ages ranging from 12 to 18 as they perform My Grandfather’s Clock (an American folk song), a Stamitz duo for violin and viola , and a Telemann Concerto for 3 violins!

Solo and Ensemble is almost here!  For high school students it will be held at Brunswick High School on Saturday, February 16th, 2013.  All of my students who have been working on a solo will need to set up two rehearsals with their accompanist before the contest.

The middle school Solo and Ensemble will be later in April so now is a great time to be looking at pieces that you may want to perform.

Friday November 30th, 2012, 8pm – The Cavani String Quartet performs at Cleveland Institute of Music with guest artist Roger Tapping.

Friday February 1st, 2013, 8pm – A Faculty Piano Trio Performs at Cleveland Institute of Music.
